Spish Rurak founded Rurak & Associates, Inc. in 1987, as an executive search firm focusing on the development of key senior management working closely with a limited number of clients.  Previous to that, he was a Partner for three years in the Washington, DC office of a nationally-ranked executive search firm.

Spish has served clients in several industries, but has particular expertise in Professional Services and Information Technology.  In addition, he specializes in assisting small and mid-cap companies with succession candidates for key senior executive positions.      

Before entering the search profession in 1985, Spish held executive positions with Communications Satellite Corporation, COMSAT, now a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin in Washington, DC, in corporate planning, marketing, international sales, and product management. Prior to that he was a management consultant for three years with McKinsey & Company, Inc. in Düsseldorf where he served US and European multinationals in the telecommunications, energy, transportation, and consumer products industries.

Spish holds a Masters of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics, and a BA in Government from Harvard University. He also studied on a postgraduate level at Oxford University and the University of Warsaw, after serving for four years as an officer in the US Navy with engineering duties at sea and in signals intelligence assignments overseas.
