Frank Skillern retired in 1999 after 16 years at various senior positions at American Express Company, the last one as Chief Executive Officer of American Express Centurion Bank. While at American Express, Mr. Skillern was President of both the Consumer Card and Credit Card Groups in the United States. He also started a financial planning company in the United Kingdom. Mr. Skillern is currently a director of American Express Centurion Bank. Prior to joining American Express, Mr. Skillern was General Counsel of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington, DC; the FDIC is one of the Federal agencies that regulates the banking industry. He also practiced law in Dallas, Texas and Washington, DC.
