NEW YORK, NEW YORK, 30th December 2007 -- Gow & Partners, New York was responsible for the search and recruitment of Peter J. Wright as Senior Vice President & Head of Human Resources for the Worldwide Life Insurance Division of AIG, the world’s leading international insurance organization. 

This critical senior appointment involved identifying top human resources professionals capable of taking on the task of developing and managing the HR function for this global division.  Mr. Wright will be a member of AIG’s senior HR team, and will report to Edmund Tse, Senior Vice Chairman of Life Insurance, Rodney Martin, EVP Life Insurance, and Andy Kaslow, AIG’s Chief Human Resources Officer.  Commenting on Wright’s appointment, Roddy Gow of Gow & Partners, who led the search, said: “We are delighted to have been able to assist AIG on this highly important project and are very pleased with the outcome.  Peter Wright is an exceptionally experienced HR professional, and our firm's global reach helped us approach the very best candidates and achieve this excellent result for our client.”

Mr. Wright is an international senior human resources executive who brings to AIG more than 25 years of experience in generalist, talent management and business transformation roles. He was formerly Vice President of Human Resources for British Petroleum’s Refining & Marketing Group in London, a 90,000 employee unit of BP, and served on the global senior executive committee. Prior to BP, he served as head of international HR for Estee Lauder, and has also served in senior HR and organizational development roles with Allied Domecq, Unilever, and held the top HR position at Merrill Lynch Mercury Asset Management.  He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Member of the Babson College Advisory Board. He holds an Honors Degree and an MA in history from St John’s College, Cambridge University.
