NEW YORK, NEW YORK, June 7TH 2008 – Gow & Partners, New York was responsible for the search and recruitment of Susan Bari, as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Leader to Leader Institute, an institution set up to strengthen the leadership of the social sector. Ms. Bari brings to The Leader to Leader Institute over 25 years of experience gained in a diverse career providing her with the leadership talents, and skill as a manager and marketer. Prior to joining the Institute, Ms. Bari was the President of The Susan Bari Company, a firm set up to provide business development coaching, customer acquisition strategies and supplier diversity consulting services to corporations, nonprofit organizations and entrepreneurs.

Ms. Bari is also currently the President Emeritus of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the leading advocate for the advancement of women owned businesses as vendors and suppliers to the nation’s corporations. During the past ten years, Ms. Bari in her capacity as President and CEO, has grown the organization to become the nation’s leading third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women; which counts among its members America’s top corporations for Supplier Diversity.

Ms. Bari represented The White House on a delegation to Greece and Israel in 1986, analyzing the impact of regulation and legislation on women who work. She was also selected by the Clinton Administration to be a member of the US Delegation to the OECD Paris meeting and has served as an advisor to The Migration Project (of the EU) on the establishment of pilot supplier diversity initiatives in EU countries.

Ms. Bari has received numerous awards including the Standing Ovation Award from the WBENC, the Impact Award from the Billion Dollar Roundtable and the Advocate of the Year Award from the WPEO. Ms. Bari is a member of the International Committee of the Business Advisory Council of the Pamplin College of Business.

Ms. Bari received her BA from the University of Massachusetts and her MBA from Virginia Tech. She has also attended the Program for Senior Managers in Government at John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard College.
